Come to theatres, grab your snacks, sip your drink and enjoy unlimited laughter-riot for next 3 hours. Hats off to director Rajesh! The filmmaker just sets you high on enjoyment and obviously, it’s a stress-buster of all seasons. While Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran had the protagonists sharing their mirthful encounters with Santhanam, the comedy actor carries the entire film on his shoulders this time.
From minute-to-minute, you’ll experience the irresistible fun and the duo combo Udhayanidhi-Santhanam lark about with these attributes.
The film has a wafer-thin storyline as it carries the hackneyed concept of Rajesh’s previous movies Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Baskaran based on love encounters, egoistic clashes between boy-n-gal and precisely about ‘Friendship’.
When Saravanan (Udhayanidhi Stalin) receives a registered post, little he does expect that it would turn his life topsy-turvy. It’s a wedding invitation from Meera (Hansika Motwani), his ex-girlfriend in Pondicherry and Saravanan seeks the help of his close buddy Paartha (Santhanam) to stop the marriage. The journey begins and it’s a flashback in Boss Engira Baskaran mode as the voiceover of Rajesh narrates the story of Saravanan, Meera and Paartha.
Udhayanidhi Stalin has exerted best of his potentials to deliver the scenes appropriately with an ease. His body language and dialogue delivery stand out as his additional attraction while he could have focussed more into enhancing his dancing skills. Hansika Motwani as a cheeky bubbly girl steals your hearts. However, she doesn’t get more scope to emote. Santhanam – the showstopper keeps you hooked from beginning till end. His hilarious strokes are done with his own panache. Say for instance, his witty one-liners, timing sense become the major attractions. Especially, the climax portion where he and Udhay narrate a story in ‘Christian Prayer Meeting style bilingually’ is extraordinary. Santhanam enquiring about Kingfisher Beverage to an airhostess leaves you in splits.
Director Rajesh has once again crafted an out-and-most comedy drama that will have more repeat audiences to the theatres.
The musical score by Harris Jayaraj might not be as splendid as Yuvan’s combo with Rajesh in his previous movies, but the song ‘Venaam Machchan’ is a special treat for the frontbenchers.
The cinematography by Balasubramaniam is cool and appealing and getting on with the performance of other actors, it’s Saranya Ponvannan winning away the praises.
Except the fact that the film is little lengthy in duration (approximately 3 hours), the film is entertaining to the core and is worth watching the second time as well.
Verdict: Best treat for Summer Vacation. Don’t miss it
