Director AR Murugadoss and musician Harris Jayaraj combo has always produced musical extravaganza. It is, therefore, needless to say what one can expect of an album they have made for Ilayathalapathy Vijay. Having joined Vijay, the director and musician must’ve been compelled to give out the best. Now, let’s check out how the fans lap up this music album.

Song: Kutty Puli Koottam
Lyricist: Viveka
Singers: Hariharan, Tipu

Fans wouldn’t believe that this is the opening song for Vijay! This will be a novel opening song for Vijay who has acted as a Mumbai-based Tamilian. This hummable song does not have the usual frills of a Vijay opening song like giving a build up about the hero or sermons from him. It spells out the importance of life and the song will be a musical treat for the audiences by Harris Jayaraj. Viveka’s lyrics are great.

Song: Antarctica
Lyricist: Madan Karky
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Krish

This song begins with the lyrics ‘Antarctica ven paniyile urugudhu nenjam’ from an army man’s point of view. The lyrics ‘Aval asainthaal aval asaivilum isai pirakkum’ clearly spells out the yearning for his ladylove. This song is sure to turn into a love anthem among the youth. Madan Karky has used some unusual words in the lyrics and Harris Jayaraj’s music adds glory to it.

Song: Vidai Kodu
Lyricist: Pa Vijay
Singers: Karthik

‘Viththaga Kavignar’ Pa Vijay has used some different words describe an army man’s farewell. This song is a royal salute for all those military men, who leave behind their loved ones and toil hard to save the country. Vidai Kodu will make every parent or spouse of an army person proud. Apart from the lyrics, the music also captures our attention.

Song: Google Google
Lyricist: Madan Karky
Singers: Vijay, Andrea

This song, sung by Vijay in his compelling voice, is a description of his hot and spicy girl friend in the film. The heroine’s description of the hero and vice versa in the voice of Vijay and Andrea coupled with the peppy music adds vividness to this song. The English lyrics at the background are another plus. This song is said to have given Harris and Vijay a new experience.

Song: Vennilave
Lyricist: Na Muthukumar
Singers: Hariharan, Bombay Jayashree

Song begins with Hindi lyrics and slowly turns out to be in Tamil. Na Muthukumar’s strong lyrics whiff past us breezily. Lyrics like ‘Azhage nee boogambam thaana… aruge vanthaal pookkambam thaana’ are superb. The different musical instruments used at the background can also be heard along with the song. Hariharan and Bombay Jayashree’s rendition makes it unique and different from the rest of the songs.

Song: Alaika
Lyricist: Pa Vijay
Singers: Javed Ali, Sayanora Phillip, Sharmila

Alaika… Alaika… with Pa Vijay’s strong lyrics to capture the attention of the youngsters and the lively music is sure to turn into a hit. The lyrics ‘Kannangal irandum strawberry cakea’ is just an example of the energetic lyrics.

Each of the songs in the Thuppakki album is bursting out like a cannon shot!
